Once you’ve successfully downloaded the CosmoViewerNG-Setup.exe installer onto your local computer, its time to run the .exe file.

Follow the installation procedure below:

1. Run installed application CosmoViewerNG
2. Connect your PC/laptop to the Wi-Fi network called “cosmostreamer”
3. Use the default password which is “1234512345”
4. Alternatively, connect your PC/laptop to the local network with Ethernet cable
5. Cosmostreamer device must be discovered and shown in list. Click on it for connection.
6. Direct Wi-Fi connection to DJI cams
7. Connect your PC/laptop to DJI Pocket Osmo, DJI Pocket2 or Osmo Action Wi-Fi network
8. Move mouse to left side of application window and click application settings icon in pop-up panel
9. Choose “Use Osmo Action direct connection” for Osmo Action, “Use Pocket Osmo direct connection” for Pocket Osmo, “Use Pocket 2 direct connection” for Pocket 2. Or “Use DJI Osmo/Osmo+/Osmo Pro/Osmo RAW” for old Osmo.

As you know with the corona virus, everybody is streaming live because it is the only safe way to talk and see the friends and family. I could skype on my laptop but decide it would be more joyful fo stream from my phone. But it can’t be done… Again sorry but this does not make sense! I don’t want to shoot a video , i want to use this live. It should be clearly state on the website that “This tool does not stream live”.

It should integrate with skype, FaceTime, messenger without having to give your google or youtube access to another company. Really disappointed here!

Hello, I don’t understand why this has not been taken into consideration. Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and all other platforms lives. I actually got the osmo mobile 3 for using it for my lives while I walk through my garden. But I can only use it properly if I only walk straight. I would like to have the object following but can’t have it. Please forward the necessity of these features to the design team as really, it doesn’t make sense you DJI Go having it, for lower models like the osmo mobile 2, but than the newer model not. Hurry up, I have invested in you and I trust your judgement on that. Thank you. Please let me know when this is available.

So dji just ”forget” to make software architecture with live features within, in present day where live streaming is pretty obvious need. Omg. I think it is not only the tracking, there are other features as well which could be handy which are missing when using e.g. Fb app and not dji mimo. I mean the gimbal is great dont get me wrong.

User friendliness is pretty important and should be taken into account when developing things, someone should guide software engineers to understand that, even in dji. Listen customer needs and deliver otherwise you are loosing them.

DJI Pocket Live Stream Solution

At the time this blog was written, there still was no live streaming feature from the MIMO app or even the ability to hide overlays. Also, there was still no basic USB drivers to allow the use of the Osmo Pocket as a regular webcam. It’s shocking that this these basic features are not implemented yet, especially in an era that Live Streaming and Web cams connectivity have become the “ new norm”

Fortunately, once again, all is not lost with the DJI Osmo and there is a workaround to take advantage of the live streaming functionality everyone is after.

First you will need some hardware in the form of an Android phone since the screencapture mode for the iPhone does not work 100%. Not even with StreamLabs software. You will also need a USB C cable.

SO, what is required to make this work?

1. You’ll need a USB C cable to connect your Osmo pocket to the android phone
2. Next, you’ll need to open the Youtube App and go to live stream
3. Next, select the screen capture icon from the YouTube app
4. Once you’ve started the streaming, next open the DJI App
5. Get the feed from the Gimbal to the phone (Your phones screen capture should appear on the DJI)
6. SUCCESS!
