Destiny 2 Daily Focus Playlist Explained
The Destiny 2 Daily Focus playlist is a feature of the Guardian Games event. Destiny 2 runs this event annually, and tasks players with gathering Medallions and turning them in for points, then the class that turns in the most points wins the event. The ways in which players can accrue points are numerous, so naturally many players will seek out the most efficient methods. The Daily Focus is a feature that has changed a bit from previous years, so to figure things out here is Destiny 2 Daily Focus Playlist explained.

Destiny 2 Daily Focus Playlist: Getting Started
There has been some confusion about how the Daily Focus Playlist works in this year’s Guardian Games. First and foremost, we need to get started. There are several quests tied to the event, but the initial quest is the one we need to get through. The quest is called Destiny 2 Best in Class, and we have an extensive guide explaining it.
Once you complete this first list of tasks for Eva and Zavala, you are ready to start the event properly. You will get more quests to complete, and Cards to purchase from Eva Levante. Cards come in two flavours, Contender and Platinum, and reward players with Medallions. To buy those cards, you need Laurels. Laurels can be earned anywhere, but bonus Laurels are awarded in the Daily Focus Playlist.

How To Find The Destiny 2 Daily Focus Playlist
This is where the confusion began. Each year during the Guardian Games, players are given an item called the Medallion Case. It shows your total Laurels, as well as how many Medallions of each type the player is holding. In previous years, viewing the Medallion Case also told you what the current Daily Focus Playlist was. There is no mention of the Daily Focus on the Medallion Case anymore, leading many to assume there was no Daily Focus Playlist in the event this year.
Turns out, this is not the case. For some reason, Bungie decided to move the Daily Focus Playlist notification to the objective panel on the map screen. Hold E/L2/LT on the map screen to bring out the objective panel on the left, there you will see what today’s Daily Focus Playlist is, either Vanguard, Crucible, or Gambit. Take part in the specified activity to earn yourself some extra Laurels.

What is the Daily Focus Playlist in Destiny 2?
Guardian Games are back, and Hunters are already dominating. If you want to do your part to help Titans and Warlocks back into the game (or help Hunters keep their advantage, like me), then you need to be running the Daily Focus Playlist. If you’re new to the Guardian Games or just looking to do some research before getting started, you’re probably wondering what the Daily Focus Playlist is in Destiny 2. Here’s everything you need to know.
What is the Daily Focus Playlist in Destiny 2?
The Daily Focus playlist is a Guardian Games exclusive game mode that rotates through Strikes, Gambits, and Crucibles, matching you with other players of your same class type, whether it’s Hunters, Titans, or Warlocks. It’s the fastest way to earn Laurels during the Guardian Games since it allows you to chain together Contender Cards for high-value medals.
To get to the Daily Focus Playlist, open your Director to the Tower and click on the small node with the Guardian Games icon. The benefit of the focus playlist and being matches with the same class type is that you’ll be getting more Laurels as you play.
The first day of Guardian Games features strikes as the daily focus, but it’s going to be a regular rotation of Crucible and Gambit, as well.
Some Guardian Games challenges will require you to complete specific objectives in the Daily Focus, so there are a few different incentives to have you playing it. You don’t have to, though. Running Daily Focus Playlists is not going to affect the rate at which you earn medals, which is the main objective of the Guardian Games at the end of the day.
Bungie has been pretty generous with Laurel drops, too. I’ve constantly been at the cap since reset on Tuesday without putting too much thought into it. Still, if you’re looking to min-max your performance, it’s what you should be playing.
What is the Daily Focus Playlist in Destiny 2?
For some of the challenges, bounties, and quests that will be taking place during Guardian Games 2021 in Destiny 2, players will be asked to achieve certain goals in the Daily Focus Playlist.
The game doesn’t really explain what this is, so we are here to set you on the right path. The Daily Focus Playlist can be found in the main Menu, by going into the Quest tab, then clicking to see the details on the Medal Case.
In orange writing on this details screen, the game will list the Daily Focus playlist, and it can be Strikes, Crucible, or Gambit.
Strikes are definitely the best Daily Focus Playlist, as you can earn laurels very quickly and easily there by using the Guardian Games: Strikes playlist on the Tower map. Being in a playlist with only people playing that class will make it much quicker to gather up large amounts of Laurels.
To make your time in the Playlist more efficient, make sure you visit Eva in the Tower and grab a Contender Card for 100 Laurels. These will give you a random challenge, and you can finish them up in the playlist and earn some medals for your class.
